Training Center of vessel survival struggle (TCVSS) has been working on the base of the department of Vessel Management of MSU named after adm. G.I. Nevelskoi since 1993. At first it prepared students to use vessel saving devices and to survive on a sea, then it prepared students according to the basis 36 hours training program of Vessel Survival Struggle with getting certificates to work on sea.
In 1996 TCVSS was certified by Transport Ministry of Russian Federation. Since that time ship staffs of different vessels are being taught on this training center and since 1997 training of all sailing staff on TCVSS replies all requirements of Convention PDMNB-78/95.
Certificate of Transport Ministry of Russian Federation from 1999 replies all technical and methodological demands of academic process on TCVSS of such programs as:
primary course of safe problems
fire fighting based on special program
specialists of saving boas and rafts
first medical aids and medical care.
Instructors staff of TCVSS has the experience of teaching and practical work on vessels, also has the special training on Russian and overseas training centers.
Only TCVSS of MSU has deep winter swimming pool of 25 meters length, for medical training it has working hospital of 10 faculties with medical staff and equipment.
