60 years since higher marine colleges were set up On March 5 we will mark a birthday of Russia’s higher marine education. Today new tasks are set, complicated, but interesting ones. The University staff tries not only to preserve, but also develop glorious traditions of their institution.

Three MSU staff members – V.Protasov, V.Tytskikh and Y.Kabankov also contributed to the magazine.
  January 27, 2004“New book” publishing programUnder the “New Book” Publishing Progam a collection of poetry by V.Protasov, a collection of free verse by the same author and memoirs by Zavyalova were published.   January 25, 2004Report of research leader for one year’s work in the expedition Today is exactly one year since the beginning of the Expedition. The main part of the research program has been completed, despite all the difficulties.

On that clear winter day the training sailcraft “Nadezhda” owned by the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I.Nevelskoy sailed off for a long, round-the-world voyage. The project was dedicated to the bicentenary of the first round-the-world voyage of Russian sailors commanded by I.Kruzenshtern and Yu.Lisyansky on board the sloops “Nadezhda” and “Neva”.

There were young members of naval patriotic clubs and Great Patriotic War veterans present. The latter recollected their legendary voyages, recited their poems and sang songs about the sea, friendship and loyalty.
