Initiation of pupils of lyceum

On 26 October all those admitted to the MSU Lyceum were given student’s books. In all 68 boys and girls are newcomers to the 8th, 9th and 11th grades.

Higher folk school visiting Maritime university

Students of the Higher Folk School are pensioners. They came to visit the Museum of the Maritime State University named after adm. G.I.Necelskoy. They listened to the guide’s lecture with great interest, asked questions about every exhibit, date or person connected with the University, its Museum and sea.

MSU Marine college welcoming new cadets

In 1962 the Russia’s Ministry of Merchant Marine made a decision to establish a Vladivostok Marine College. Starting from 1995 its best graduates continue their training at the MSU according to intensive programs.

Council of vice-rectors in charge of educational work

Over one year ago a Council on Extra-Curriculum Work was set up with the Council of Rectors of Primorsky Universities headed by V.I.Sedykh, Rector, the Maritime State University. On October 12 its sixth meeting was held at the Ussuriysk State Teachers’ Training Institute where the subject “Physical Training and Sports at the Higher Education Institutions” was discussed.

The second round of the Russian Students’ Olympiad in Philosophy for Primorsky Region was held in Ussuriysk. Our students Anna Baragunova, Anastasia Pika, Natalia Bezrukova and Natalia Antonova represented the MSU.

MSU authors contributing to russian magazines

"At the Crossroads, or Where will Marine Education Head?" is the name of an article written by V.I.Sedykh, MSU Rector and published in the "Far East" magazine. Head of the MSU Literary Studio V.M.Tytskikh published a review of young Primorski poets’ works in the same issue of the magazine.

Victory brought from China

On 30-31 September International Students’ Competition in "Dragon" class boat rowing. University teams came from Italy, Spain, America, Canada, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Macao and China (15 teams!). Russia was represented by 22 Primorsky students, two of them from the MSU.

The took the sixth place in the "open" class and the first place in the "mixed" class.

On results of opinion poll held in Vladivostok on 27.09.2004

On 27 September, 2004 sociologists of the MSU Institute of Socio-Political Problems of Management held an opinion poll among Vladivostok residents in order to learn the latter’s attitude towards some issues of housing and communal service. Its results show that the population does not know the structure of the communal tariff.

Far Eastern Students’ Forum

On 23-26 September the Far Eastern Students’ Forum was held in Khabarovsk. There were delegations from the Khabarovsk, Primorsky, Amur, Sakhalin, Magadan, Kamchatka Regions, Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and Jewish Autonomous Area.
