They held classes, got acquainted with the MSU training system, contacted their Russian counterparts - the Chinese teachers’ stay in Vladivostok was rich in content, interesting and useful.

MSU marine college chief is meritorious teacher of rf

One should meet some high requirements to get a title of “Meritorious Teacher of the Russian Federation”. First, 15 years of research and teaching activities are a must, second, great success in teaching and educating the new generation. All this is known to boris Gennadyevich Slivayev, the MSU Marine College Chief. According to Order #1366 dated 26 October, 2004 he was awarded with this honorary title. Guests from Kingdom of Thailand in the MSU

On 1 November, 2004 there was a meeting of 11 representatives of Thailand with the MSU Rector. The high Thai delegation had an excursion around the University campus, to the MSU Museum and various simulators. They discussed matters of integration of higher maritime education and strengthening international relations between Thai Universities and the MSU.

New academicians

Two more teachers of the Maritime State University were given the titles of academicians. At the meeting of the Academic Council held on 2 November, the MSU Rector V.I.Sedykh handed a diploma and certificate of Acting Member (Academician) of the Russian Transport Academy to the First Vice-Rector Vladimir Fyodorovich Gamanov and a diploma and a certificate of Acting Member (Academician) of the Academy of Military Sciences to Professor, Department of Technology and Organization of Ship Repairs Yevgeny Victorovich Rasskazov. Congratulations!

MSU sportsmen are world champions

The world championship in “Dragon” class boat rowing is over in Shanghai (China). About 3000 sportsmen from 30 countries took part in the event. Russia was represented mainly by Primorski sportsmen, among them there were six cadets and students of the Maritime State University. The Russian team won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Modern approach to students’ creative work

From 27 to 30 October a practical seminar “Modern Media Technologies” was held in the FESTU, Vladivostok. Its participants were students, staff members and heads of media issued by the Far Eastern and Siberian Universities. The MSU team made a spot about the MSU Youth Center, which the judges gave the first place.
