Results of young poets’ contest

The results of the First All-Russian Young Poets’ Contest were summed up recently. Anastasia Osokina, its winner, is a 9th form student of the Maritime University Lyceum. Her poems were included in a collection “New Names of Russia”.

Day of economics and management faculty

The 23rd April is the Day of Economics and Management Faculty. This time the festival was very friendly and sincere.

There are about 670 students at the Faculty. Lyubov Vasilyevna Terentyeva is heading it. Rewards were handed to the teachers and students active in business training sessions and social life of the Faculty, as also sports events, like last year’s regatta.

Symphony orchestra in MSU

On 22 April the Pacific Symphony Orchestra gave a concert of classical music for the MSU students, cadets and teachers. The artists find the acoustics of the MSU Assembly Hall to be fine.

Winner of all-russian contest

A system of automatic control over the ship’s course was made in the Maritime State University. V. Perechosov, a young teacher and post-graduate of the MSU made its software. The description of his work took part in the All-Russian Contest “Engineer of the Year”. Vladimir Perechosov became its winner in the “Engineering Art of the Young” section.

MSU sports and athletics meeting

On 18 April the MSU Sports and Athletics Meeting finished. In all 325 students and cadets fought for the champions’ titles in 13 kinds of sports: boxing, volley ball, wrestling, basket ball, cross-country race, mini football, power lifting, table tennis, unarmed combat, swimming, orienting, chess and pistol shooting.

On 28 March, 2004 Vladivostok met the training sailcraft “Nadezhda”. Her voyage lasted 14 months. The meeting was both touching and solemn.

Rewards to participants of the round-the-world voyage

On 28 March the round-the-world voyage of the Training sailcraft “Nadezhda” owned by the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I.Nevelskoy was completed. The RF Ministry of Transport and Communication rewarded all the participants of the voyage with a special badge to be handed on 3 April at 15 hours in the MSU Assembly Hall.
