Our student is the best one

Three years ago the “Career-Forum” Crewing Agency, Vladivostok and the Municipal Employment Center launched a contest of the same name to bring together employers and 4th or 5th-year students of all the Universities of the city. This year Yevgeny Mikhailov, a 5th-year student of the Economics and Management Faculty, MSU has won the contest. He was able to demonstrate his best qualities, like erudition, charm and actor’s skills.

Work-shop on english

To upgrade skills of the MSU teachers of English, annual work-shops are held by native speakers of English. Such work-shops were held by Mrs. Valery Short from New Zealand three times.

A new book

The MSU Publishing House published a new book – “White Vezha” devoted to the memory of the first Slavic enlighteners saint apostles brothers Cyrill and Methodius. The book was published under the aegis of the Popular Publishing Program. Its authors are Bylorussian poet Leonid Dranko-Moysyuk and translator of his poems Yuri Kabankov.

“Last bell” rang in the MSU lyceum

On 25 May the “last Bell” ceremony was held for 62 graduates of the MSU Lyceum. It was a beautiful, touching and a little sad event for the leavers, their teachers and parents. The parting words and wishes sounded in speeches made by Lyceum Director Y.N.Konovalova, Vice-Rector of the MSU P.K.Chebunin and others.

The majority of the graduates are planning to enter the Maritime University.

The Sakhalin Branch of the Maritime State University celebrated May Day and Victory Day with subbotniks and amateur art concerts for WW2 veterans. On 9 May there was a procession and meeting in honor of great Victory.

The Kholmsk cadets are active participants of the video studio.

On 19 May the US training ship “Golden Bear” called at Vladivostok. She had cadets of the Maritime Academy of the California State University, students of the same University (would-be biologists, physicists and agriculture specialists) and teachers on board – in all 246 persons.

Auto rally dedicated to the days of slavic written language and culture

The religious procession on cars goes on. We will remind that on 12 May the Days of Slavic Written Language and Culture opened in Vladivostok and on 13 May the participants of the Rally in honor of the Festival were seen off along the Vladivostok – Komsomolsk-on-Amur route and back.

Friendship is the main thing

The higher educational institutions of Vladivostok are receiving foreign guests. On 11 May the Fishery University and the FENU received students from Canada who arrived on board the training sailer “Concordia”. On 12 May the ship “Kayo Maru” berthed at the Marine Terminal and 13 cadets and 3 teachers of the Higher Marine School of the Prefecture Niigata (Japan) became guests of the Maritime State University.

Round-the-world voagers were handed rewards

On 28 March, 2004 the training sailer “Nadezhda” finished her round-the-world voyage. Vladivostok waited for her 14 months. The RF Ministry of Transport and Communication established memorable decorations for all the participants and the MSU administration prepared Letters of Gratitude.

Guests from Japan

On 12 May at 11 hours the training ship “Kayo Maru” owned by the Higher Marine School of the prefecture Niigata will moor at the Marine Terminal of Vladivostok. The Japanese cadets will be guests of the Maritime State University named after G.I.Nevelskoy. Friendship between the Japanese and Russian cadets lasts for 10 years. For this decade hundreds of future Japanese seamen have visited the port of Vladivostok and learned about the Russian system of marine education.
