Applicants of the Maritime state university

On 25 June the MSU Admission Commission started its activities by accepting 96 applications. Today the MSU offers 32 specialities and specializations, three of the are absolutely new ones: “Radiophysics and Electronics”, “Information Security of TV Communication Systems” and “Physical Culture and Sports”.

688 students will be funded by the Government. The documents will be accepted till 15 July. Entrance examinations will start on the 16 July.

Dragon-class boat competition

On 19 June the Governor Cup Competition in dragon-class boat rowing was held in Vladivostok About 50 teams took part. The MSU team took the second place, having lost one second to the “Olympus” team.

First graduates of the technological faculty

On 22 June the first graduates of the Technological Faculty got their diplomas in speciality “Equipment and technology of increasing wear resistance and restoring parts of machines and apparatuses”. They will find jobs at ship repairing facilities at Valdivostok, Slavyanka and Nakhodka.

39th group of graduates of the marine college

On 23 June the graduates of the MSU Marine College received certificates of secondary education. 91 cadets got specialities of ship engineers and navigators. All of them had shipboard training which lasted about 10 months.

Professor Slesarenko’s diploma

Some days ago the British International Bibliographical Center (Cambridge) sent a diploma certifying that Vladimir Slesarenko teaching at the MSU named after admiral G.I.Nevelskoy is included in the 2,000 most outstanding scientists of the world of the 20th century for his merits in the sphere of marine sciences, in particular desalination of sea water.

Korean training ship in Vladivostok

Today the Maritime State University again received guests from the Marine Research School (Pokhan, Republic of Korea). The trainees and instructors arrived aboard the training ship “Hae Ma Ji”. The ship called at Vladivostok for the second time of late. The first group of Korean students visited Vladivostok including the MSU in late May.

A year ago the Council of Rectors of Primorski Universities headed by V.I.Sedykh, Rector of the Maritime State University, set up a Council of Vice-Rectors in charge of educational work. Its purpose is to look for new directions, forms and exchange of experience.

The third-year student of the MSU Psychology Faculty Galina Shpakova arranged an exhibition of her 12 painting at the Faculty premises.

At the opening ceremony Galina told about every painting of hers presented there. She paints to the music which sounded at the opening.

An exhibition of paintings by Yuri Volkov opened in the Maritime State University. It is a kind of a report about his voyage aboard the sailing ship “Nadezhda” from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg, the first stage of her recent round-the-world voyage.

A new ship in the MSU shipping company

Today the training ship “Professor Khlyustin” arrived in Vladivostok from Novorossiysk. In addition to the sailing ship “Nadezhda”, she will be used for shipboard training by navigation and engineering cadets.
