Since 1965 the MSU has been bearing the name of that outstanding Russian seafarer. The Governor’s grant is awarded twice a year. During this term 555 persons were awarded with it, 40 of them are the MSU students and cadets.

The subject of the Conference was inspired by the 115th anniversary of marine education in the Far East and the 125th anniversary of the Far Eastern Shipping Company.

Those questions were discussed at a meeting of the Lyceum classes students held within the framework of the All-Russian Action devoted to the World Day of Struggle Against Drug Abuse.
