Virtually all the faculties sent their teams of two yawls and the MEF and ND three each. In all 21 yawls took part in the Regatta. Its organizers are Russian Transport Ministry, the MSU Marine Physics and Engineering Institute, the FEB RAS International Research Center "Arctic", the Russian Academy of Technological Sciences and the Institute of Medical Physics named after U.H.Kolvillem.

At our University an excellent student is the one who gets only excellent marks during four semesters. Speaking in sportive terms, the lath is high and few can overcome it. But there are 250 excellent students in the MSU - every 14th full-time student. Every Faculty can be proud of its bright trainees.

Days of Slavic written language and culture are organized in many Russian regions in commemoration of the Saints. The festival started in Primorye on May 16 when the Fifth Educational Readings opened in the FENU. Press Service of the Maritime State University | more |   May 26, 2005Sports and athletics event is over From December 2004 to May 2005 a major comprehensive sports and athletics event was held at the Maritime State University. It was the 56th time; this year it was devoted to the 60th anniversary of Great Victory. About 1200 cadets and students of all the Faculties took part in it. A specific feature of this event: for the first time girls took part in it. Male teams competed in 12 kinds of sports and female teams in 7.

On May 25 the last bell sounded for the graduates of the MSU Lyceum. The atmosphere of the event was warm, farewell speeches were full of words of affection and gratitude.

On May 26 a Regatta starts in the water area of the Amursky Bay. 49 years ago Yevgeny Zhukov, Chief, Department of Ship’s Control, offered to hold regattas. The idea was implemented and became a good tradition. A lot of alumni attend its opening, they recollect their sports achievements and are happy that the Regatta is still existent.

The MSU Center of Cultural Exchange together with the Australian Rotary Club representatives are organizing an international business game MUNA - a model of the United Nations Organization. Mr. Gan Su Lee, Director of the Center of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Korean Maritime University met with V.F.Gamanov, the MSU First Vice-Rector to discuss further cooperation within the framework of a Memorandum signed by our Universities in 2002.

Ways of its Improvement" ("Fleet-05") began at the Maritime State University. It was organized by the MSU named after Admiral G.I.Nevelskoy, FESCO, PRISCO, Russian Expert and Marine Surveyors’ Corporation and Pacific Inspection of the Russian Marine Register of Shipping.

There are some Primorsky people among its 28 authors: Vasily Litvin, Alexander Bryukhanov, Anatoly Bochinin and others.
There is also a review of a literary and arts almanac "Sikhote-Olymp" published by the MSU Publishing House in 2003.
The MSU Literary Studio "Sails"   May 18, 2005Test for readiness On May 17 at 13 hours 33 minutes an alarm signal sounded in the first MSU building: a fire broke out in a classroom. Luckily, it was a drill "Control of the MSU Civil Defense and Emergency forces when combating an emergency. The University staff evacuation during a fire".

  May 11, 2005Military relay race revived A militarized relay race timed to the 60th anniversary of Great Victory is over. It was resumed after long years of break. Despite the long pause in its existence, there were a lot of those wishing to take part in the event. Seven teams competed in shooting in a gallery, race with gas-masks on, carrying a casualty, bending arms in a lying position, disassembly of a Kalashnikov submachine-gun and raising a weight.
