News for june, 2005 June 29, 2005Vladivostok scholarships to the best onesOn June 27, Youth Day Vladivostok Mayor Vladimir Nikolayev handed city scholarships to the best students. Among them there were the MSU 5th-year navigation cadet Anton Taranchenko, the 4th-year student Irine Voronyuk and the 3rd-year student Yulia Palkina. All of them are learning with honors, taking part in public life and are respected by their colleagues and teachers.

The first results can be summed up. But first some words about specific features of this year admission to the University. The latter offers 31 specialities and specializations including two new ones: "Personnel Management" and "Sociology".

They met with their teachers and remembered their cadetship. They achieved a lot in their lives, became statesmen, successful businessmen, one sea-going captain, but the majority leaders of various levels in seaports.
Press Service of the Maritime State University | more |   June 28, 2005Our rowers have got three cups Traditional competition in Dragon class boat rowing for the Primorsky Governor Cup took place in Vladivostok. About 60 teams from Vladivostok, Partizansk and Andreyevka took part in it. The MSU team participated in three classes of boats: "open" (the most prestigious) class for 19-40 year-old men, combined students’ teams and mixed class (six men and four girls).

Coach of the combined Dragon boat rowing team | more |   June 27, 2005Go game tournament On 25-26 June the Second International Competition took place in the MSU Institute of Eastern Asia. Two teams participated: a combined Japanese and Korean team (students from Tokyo, Kyoto and Seoul, among them President of the GO Students’ Organization, Tokyo University student Takeda Tomoko) and a Russian team ( students and office workers from Vladivostok and Khabarovsk).

The Council of Vice-Rectors is headed by V.I.Tarasov, Rector, Ussuriisk State Teachers’ Training Institute. The principal objective of the Council of the Vice-Rectors is to seek new directions, forms of educational work and exhange of experience.

He performed war songs to lyrics by K.Simonov, V.Bokov, Y.Pogorelsky, L.Oshanin, K.Vanshenkin, V.Tytskikh and other well-known poets.

It demonstrates photos of important pages of our Maritime University. In 1977,1978, 1980, 1983 and 1984 teachers and cadets of the FEHEMC named after Admiral G.I.Nevelskoy made interesting voyages on board yachts visiting battlefields of the Great Patriotic War.

The Lyceum of the Maritime State University also marked the day when its 64 graduates said good-bye to it. They received their school-leaving certificates, but will remain in their teachers’ memory favorite boys and girls - active, talented and responsive, able to be friends and helpful.
Press Service of the Maritime State University | more |   June 16, 2005The youth center is one year old In the summer of 2004 by order of the MSU Rector, the Service of Socio-Psychological Work was transformed into the Department of Educational Work, the Youth Center being part of it. E.G.Zelenina headed the Department and N.B.Frank was appointed the YC leader. Exactly one year passed. On June 15 the YC gathered its performers, assistants and guests at the party to mark the birthday together and sum up the first results.

We should say that all the participants showed excellent results. Pavel Martynov gained the first place (27 pulls), Andrey Grishko won the second place (24 times) and Yaroslav Nomokonov took the third place (23 times).
But for the exams, there ought to have been far more participants. Press Service of the Maritime State University   June 7, 2005Welcome back to the motor rally participants On June 6 the motor rally devoted to the Days of Slavic Written Language and Culture finished. Exactly at 16 hours, as it had been planned, with their headlights and signaling on, the cortege drove into the campus of the Maritime State University. There the MSU Rector V.I.Sedykh and other officials and journalists met them. The cadets were lined up on the drill ground.

There were a lot of prizes, as there were competitions in rowing, sailing, cruise race, combined race and race without a helmsman.

The Maritime State University team included 10 cadets and students who showed good results and won the first place as a team.
Press Service of the Maritime State University   June 1, 2005Teacher of the year A Contest "Teacher-2005" was organized in the Marine College. It consisted of three stages: an open lesson, presentation of a teaching aid and demonstration of all the teaching and methodic set. The final part was aimed at creating a festival for cadets and teachers.
