News for february, 2006 February 28, 2006Exhibition in the museum, or dare – you are talented! There is an exhibition of paintings by the MSU workers and students. It is timed to the 8 March. Its epigraph is “Any day spring reigns in my soul”. You can see the pictures by N.G.Levchenko, Chief of Internet/Intranet Maintenance Department with the IT Center, A.Osokina, the Lyceum student and K.Loskutova, a student of the IEA Institute. Although their works differ in genres, they all are joyful, light and creative – typical of spring. Come to the Museum to see them. The exhibition will last till 1 April.

Anna Ivanovna witnessed hard, but glorious pages of our history. The country was made a mighty marine power through talents, high professionalism and great courage of the people like her. The wonderful woman added a bright page to both the history of the Russian merchant marine and the history of Vladivostok.

It includes a brief summary of the latest cultural events held in the University and organized by the Center staff: concerts, meetings with participants of international programs and so on. The events intend to familiarize cadets, students and staff of the Maritime State University with cultures of other countries.

He has been taking part in oriental martial arts for a number of years. Among his latest achievements are the following: he is a Vladivostok champion in thaekwondo (2006), Russia’s Cup champion in thaekwondo (2005) and Vladivostok champion in kick-boxing (2005).

With books read in one’s childhood, stories about brave old salts and romanticism of adventures… What will you feel if today someone will tell you about a round-the-world voyage aboard a sailing vessel? The book “Round the World with Hope” is about such a voyage, the first Russian circumnavigation in the 21st century. There were 26 researchers from 9 Russian Universities, 33 post-graduate students and senior students, 70 cadets of the Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I.Nevelskoy and the crew aboard the “Nadezhda”

The graduates, their parents, teachers and friends gathered together in the Assembly Hall. 12 out of 85 graduates got honors degrees and nine defended their graduation projects in English.

Such could be a motto of the Teachers’ Sports Meeting “Health-2006”. 3.5 times more participants, namely 107, turned up at sports grounds this year against the last one. The classes comprised lectures, seminars and discussions.

On 28 January a rewarding ceremony was held in the FENU Japanese Center. The Contest was organized by the Simane Prefecture, the Primorsky Regional Administration and the Consulate General of Japan in Vladivostok.
Press Service of the Maritime State University | more |   February 1, 2006Distinguished himself and joined the Far Eastern team Our first-year student Alexei Rusak (Management Institute) is back from the All-Russian Track and Field Competition. He carried out a norm of Candidate to Master of Sports in high jumping. Alexei was able to overcome the height of 2m 2 cm and he joined the Far Eastern combined track and field team that is leaving for Volgograd to take part in some competition on 5-6 February.
