Festival of Young Captains of the World Ocean. Taiwan Delagation

Lin Syan-Syan, Vice-Rector of the National Taiwan Maritime University stayed in Vladivostok during seven days. At the Maritime University Mr. Lin Syan-Syan familiarize himself with the Institute of Sea Protection activities, visited simulators imitating shipboard equipment and met with the MSU leadership.

The delegation included Chzen Shaonan, DMU Vice-Rector, Van Syaun, Deputy Director of the DMU administration, Yan Chuanyun, Deputy Chief, International Department, Din Syaomey, Deputy Director of the DMU Library, Gao Fey, ICEO official and Yan Shu, DMU student. The guests visited the simulators and the Maritime University Museum.

Festival of Young Captains of the World Ocean. Delegation from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)

During four days that representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon) Transport University spent in Vladivostok they were able to do a lot: they took part in the First International Festival of Young Captains, familiarized themselves with Vladivostok and exchanged opinions and experience with the MSU teachers.

“Dragons” – Champions

18 oarsmen, one drummer and one man at the wheel can be accommodated aboard a racing boat with a dragon’s head. To be a success in this kind of sports, one needs excellent health and a sense of rhythm together with a team spirit.

At the European “Dragon” Boat Rowing Championship that completed in Prague the Russian national team won the European Cup of Nations as the strongest European rowing team. The national team brought home 7 golden, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The Festival that resounded at the last weekend became a new level of interaction between future captains. Holding the Festival is the first attempt to unite youth of different countries having the same strivings.

Young Captains of the World Ocean

On 16 September the International Festival of Maritime Universities “Young Captains of the World Ocean” starts in Vladivostok. The participants of the Festival are teams of students from higher education institutions of maritime powers. It is the young captains who will open up the World Ocean together in future. Students of nine maritime higher education institutions of Russia, China and Singapore will take part in the Festival.

“Peter the Great Bay Cup”Finished with Vladivostok Yachtsmen’s Victory

Russian Championship in Sailing for “Konrad-25P” class yachts finished in Vladivostok. It was the biggest and long-awaited annual regatta of the Far East. It lasted ten days.

Sportsmen from 18 Russian cities and towns took part in the races. In all, 32 crews participated, the greatest number for the last few years.

This year the Nevelskoy Maritime State University was represented by 13 crews, eight of them were aboard “Konrad-25P” class yachts.

Students from the University of Incheon in the MSU

Ceremonial meeting of the group of students from the University of Incheon (Republic of Korea) took place at the MSU Institute for International Education on September, 4th, 2006. Korean students have come for 10 months training as participants of the academic exchange program between the Maritime State University and the University of Incheon. The main purpose of the visit is to study the Russian language and Russian culture.

Under the Sails of Russia’s Championship

The Russian Championship in Sailing for “Konrad-25P” class yachts started in Vladivostok.

The strongest sportsmen from 18 Russian cities and towns took part in the races.

The routes of the races are plotted in the Amursky and Ussuriysky Bays, through the Far Eastern State Marine Preserve, in the straits among numerous islands.
