Anna Ivanovma Shchetinina attended that school

On 23 March there was a centenary of # 16 School named after Anna Ivanovna Shchetinina. The school was given the name of the first lady-captain on 5 December, 2006. A plaque with a her image was unveiled on the festive day.

On March 15 Boris Ivanovich Druz turns 80. He is Doctor of Engineering, Professor, RF Transport Academician, head of the Chair of Naval Architecture with the Maritime State University.

For more than 50 years Boris Ivanovichhas been working in the sphere of maritime education, his efforts have been highly assessed by government: he has numerous awards including orders and medals.

Open Day at the Maritime University

The Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I.Nevelskoy is to hold An Open Day on 30 March, 2007 at 14.00 at the Assembly Hall for students of 11th form.

The program includes meeting with the University leadership, excursions, complete information on all specialities and issues of admission, awarding of winners of the Olympiad of scientific, engineering and intellectual creativity “A Step towards the Sea is a Step to the Future”.
