On October 23, classes resumed in the Young Shipbuilder Studio of the ANMSU Technical Engineering Center.
Assistant to the Rector for Research Mikhail Kholosha congratulated the students on this event and wished the teenagers from the Lyceum of the Maritime University and School No. 6 to follow the chosen course, replenishing their knowledge and gaining practical experience in the field of shipbuilding. He noted that the University`s partner, PJSC NK Rosneft, also makes a direct contribution to the development of this area, in particular, the classroom and workshop were renovated, and funds were allocated for their equipment.
The Studio was opened by its director, Viktor Shirogorodsky. He summed up the results of the first year and announced the work plan for the 2023-24 academic year. Over the past period, good results have been achieved. In May, the guys took part in the Aqua-Techno Show 2023, in August - in the International Ship Modeling Competition (Pacific Ocean Cup). Arseniy Bokiy, Matvey Egorov, Lev Isakov, Alexey Gavrilenko, Ivan Shevelev, who showed the best results in the competition, received awards.
Matvey Egorov won a voucher to the All-Russian Children`s Center «Ocean» for the 9th All-Russian gathering of young sailors «Yunga». There he was the captain of the squad, actively participated in all events, and received several diplomas, certificates and a medal.
The first lesson was conducted by the studio mentor, ship modeler and master of sports Valentin Gulyaev. He told how, as a teenager, he became interested in ship modeling, devoted his whole life to it and is now ready to share his knowledge and experience with the younger generation.
The students of the Young Shipbuilder Studio thanked the leadership of the Maritime University for the opportunity to do what they loved and assured that the results achieved are the first step towards mastering the complex profession of a marine engineer and shipbuilder.
