All-Russian Underwater Robotics Competition at ANMSU for the tenth time

May 10-12, the 10th All-Russian underwater robotics competition took place in the pools of the Far Eastern Maritime Training Center of ANMSU. This year, 35 teams from 15 Russian cities took part in the competition.

The teams of participants demonstrated the capabilities of their underwater vehicles by performing a mission in the pool and providing a set of technical documentation. All the competition tasks were based on existing research projects and tasks that use underwater robots or developments in the field of underwater robotics.

As with last year, the three challenges of the 2024 Challenge Mission addressed pressing issues within the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

Five categories were presented at the competition: ROV Scout (grades 1-4), ROV Navigator (grade 5-8), ROV Ranger/Explorer (grade 9-11, students), AUV (grade 6-8), AUV (grade 9- Grade 11).

Each of the teams emerged as the winner of the regional stages, which took place in St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Tyumen, Monchegorsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Perm, Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and other regions.

The competent jury identified the winners in the five categories.

The teams that took 1-3 places in the Navigator, Ranger, and AUV categories will represent Russia at the Multinational Underwater Robotics Competition, which will be held in Vladivostok on July 1-5.
