A new tradition - «Ushakov Readings» in ANMSU

February 24, the birthday of Admiral F.F. Ushakov, ANMSU hosted «Ushakov Readings». The event was initiated by the All-Russian Fleet Support Movement and was held with the active participation of FSM members, the Vladivostok Maritime Assembly and the Museum of the Maritime University. The historical hour dedicated to the personality and deeds of the famous Russian naval commander, canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church, opened new bright pages in the history of the fleet for its participants - first-year cadets of the Navigational Faculty. Nikolai Minakov, Chairman of the Primorsky Regional Branch of the FSM, spoke at the opening of the event: “Ushakov Readings dedicated to the founder of the Black Sea Fleet Fedor Fedorovich Ushakov have been held throughout the country for several years on his birthday - February 24. Today this tradition is also established at ANMSU. Ushakov is a naval commander who has not lost a single battle, a formidable «Ushak Pasha» for the Turkish enemy, an innovator in the tactics and strategy of naval combat, an example of selfless service to the Motherland! « Fyodor Ushakov combined his high military rank with deep humility, genuine modesty and sincere faith. Nikolay Minakov presented the icon of the Holy Righteous Theodore Ushakov to the Maritime University Museum.
